Museum of Contemporary Art

Thursday 11 June 2015

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Bella Room launch celebrates artist David Capra’s playful and vibrant 2015 Commission, which invites visitors to join in giving Teena the sausage dog a bath.

A morning tea will be shared with the artist, an exclusive introduction to the artwork and a guest performance by Murmuration, who will be sharing their creative work in progress, Bowerbirds.

Bella is the MCA’s free program for people with specific needs, including physical, intellectual, emotional and behavioural disabilities. Each year, an artist is commissioned to create an interactive installation for the Bella Room – a unique, multi-sensory space within the MCA’s National Centre for Creative Learning.

The MCA Bella program was established in 1993 through the generosity of MCA patrons, Dr Edward Jackson AM and Mrs Cynthia Jackson AM, and the Jackson family, in memory of their late daughter and sister Belinda.
